Each November we always look forward to making the trip to the Arkansas duck woods and sharing the blind with our good buddy Shelly and his dog Chance. There are duck blinds in Arkansas timber and backwater sloughs that are like historical monuments. Oh the stories they could tell if only they could talk. This blind we hunt opening day each year is no different. Built by hand, battling snakes, mud, mosquitos, and hot humid Arkansas summer days all for the thrill of calling in big groups of mallards on opening day! With little to no sleep the night before opening day, a warm cup of coffee and the first sound of whistling wings after decoys are set wakes us up real quick. After what seems like an eternity, shooting hours finally arrive and the first shots ring out on a group of mallards. Opening Day has finally arrived and we have 59 more days to go!!!
